Losartan (Cozaar) belongs to a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists. It keeps blood vessels from narrowing, which lowers blood pressure and improves blood flow. It is used to treat high blood pressure(hypertension) and works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily.

Hydrochlorothiazide is a “water pill” (diuretic) that causes you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of extra salt and water. Hydrochlorothiazide is also used to treat fluid retention (edema) in people with congestive heart failure, cirrhosis of the liver, or kidney disorders, or edema caused by taking steroids or estrogen.

Common side effects may include:- Cold or flu symptoms such as stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever; dry cough; muscle cramps; pain in your legs or back; stomach pain, diarrhea; headache, dizziness;tired feeling; or sleep problems (insomnia); dizziness or lightheadedness as your body adjusts to the medication.
